In this paper Dr. Susie Stanley highlights the emphasis Wesleyan/Holiness women placed on empowerment and suggests that their experience can serve as a usable past for the contemporary Christian feminist quest for empowerment.  Dr. Stanley is the Professor of Historical Theology at Messiah College.
